Borosilicate Glassware Repair

For those customers who need to come in under budget, we're here to help.

Many repairs can be completed for 1/3 of the cost of new glassware.

Common repairs include cracks (to be sealed), chipped edges (to be resurfaced), broken sidearms (to be reattached or replaced), and damaged joints (to be removed and replaced).

This is our repair procedure:

Step 1: Contact Us

The best way to get started is to send us photo(s) of the broken glassware. Usually, we can advise you whether it is worth sending the glassware to us. Contact us at repair@eaglelabglass.com

Step 2: Prepare your broken glassware

Cleaning:

All glassware must be cleaned before we receive it. This includes stopcock grease and especially caustic/flammable material. We will not repair your glassware if it is not adequately clean.

Packing:

  • wrap glassware with bubble wrap or newsprint

  • be sure to cover any openings (in the glassware) to keep any loose packing material out of the glassware

  • DO NOT apply tape directly to the glass. Many customers try to tape broken pieces together, or tape jagged edges for “safety.” PLEASE do not do this, the removal of this tape increases the risk of injuring ourselves. We know to expect jagged edges when we unpack, so simply leave any breaks as they are and wrap over them with bubble wrap or newsprint. Only apply tape to the packing material itself (almost like wrapping a present).

  • When boxing, leave at least 2 inches between the inner walls of the box and your glassware. Then fill in the remaining space with loose packing material such as foam packing peanuts.

  • finally, address and ship your box to:

Please include contact information

Step 3: Inspection

After we receive your broken glassware, we will contact you with a price quote on all repairable items. If an item is not repairable, we may be able to reuse parts for other items in your order.

Please note that there is no guarantee that your glassware will not further break during the attempted repair. Customers are not charged unless their glassware is successfully repaired.

Step 4: Payment

After we send the price quote, we wait for contact from you to let us know which items you would like us to repair. At that time we can determine a form of payment:

Credit Card – We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

Net 30 day account-- We can set up an account on a Net 30 day term with proper credit and bank references.

Check – We will notify you when your repairs are completed in order to give you an exact amount due. Once we receive your check we will ship your glassware back to you. There is a $30.00 fee for returned checks.

Step 5: Repaired Glassware is Returned

The repaired glassware will be securely packed and shipped back to you. Return shipping will be added to your invoice at the actual cost (no hidden handling charges). We will email you the package's tracking number and the expected delivery date.
